Review of the Canon IXUS 100 IS Digital Camera A really nice feature of this camera is Canon's ‘Face Detection Technology’ which ensures superb people shots by automatically detecting subjects in the frame, and automatically sets the correct focus, flash level and exposure. Also, with ‘Blink Detection’ technology turned on, amazingly, the camera will show a warning that a person in the photo had their eyes closed. This displays for 3 seconds whilst reviewing the shot after shooting. With the camera’s self timer, the camera will record the number of people detected when the self-timer is started. If for example, the photographer enters the frame it will detect that the number of people has increased and will adjust the focus and exposure if necessary. The Canon IXUS 100 can also shoot super-smooth, VGA quality movies with sound. In-camera also allows editing to give you creative control. With the new HDMI connection, you can shoot HD quality movies straight from your camera. Direct movie playback is available via the HDMI connection and image playback is also possible through HDMI for high quality displays and slideshows. |
