B & Q review

Why shop at B&Q?

B & Q is the UK and Europe's number one diy retailer and the third largest in the world. Over 45,000 home improvement and garden products are available to buy through their warehouses and superstores which number more than 300 worldwide.

B&Q offer a home delivery service at their website www.diy.com where you can buy many of their products online including power tools, electrical appliances, interior and exterior doors, decorative materials, soft furnishings, flooring, fires and radiators, fitments and accessories for kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, plus conservatories and a range of garden products.

Online shopping checklist:

  • Do B&Q offer secure online ordering? YES all personal customer information, such as name, address and credit card details, are encrypted using 128-bit encyption technology and reside on a secure SSL (secure socket layer) server

  • Do B&Q charge for home delivery? YES Only one delivery fee is charged per order. So no matter how many items you buy the delivery charge is calculated according to the total price of your order. The cost ranges from £5 for orders up to £100, £10 for orders up to £200, £15 for orders up to £300 and £20 for orders up to £400. Orders totalling more than £400 are delivered free of charge.

  • How long does delivery take? Delivery can take anywhere between 1 - 12 weeks, depending on the product ordered. Because there is such a variation in delivery times it is best to refer to the website where B&Q use a coloured symbol system to identify how long specific delivery times are for related products.

Other details worth noting...

The B&Q web site also contains plenty of useful advice for diy enthusiasts including a 'how-to' project library, project calculators, buyers guides and diy guides, plus a couple of ineractive planning tools; a kitchen planner and a fireplace designer.

For customer enquiries you can contact them on 0845 609 6688 or via their website at www.diy.com

Personal recommendation B&Q is unquestionably the best place to go if you're looking for diy products. I recently helped my brother-in-law fit a small kitchen into his flat which included two double base units + doors + wall unit + worktop + sink, and it looks great! All for under £400. 10/10 for value for money.
